Peggy Gaffney rules the world of Picture Knitting with her wonderful collection of intarsia knitting books for lovers of pets. Her Crafty Dog Knits Series books each took one breed and studied all the things that made them unique. On top of this information, were wonderful charted knitting designs showing these dogs in action and finally a collection of patterns for sweaters, hats, scarves, pillows, afghans, etc. into which these picture designs could be knit. When cat breeders approached the author she did the same for them with The Crafty Cat Knits. This attracted the attention of breeders of llamas and alpacas for which she then created a similar book. 2012 brought a turn toward multibreed books with the publication of Knit a Kitten Purl a Puppy showing adorable designs worked into patterns of clothing and accessories for children.
