About the Author
Cooper, Clarence: - Born in Detroit in 1934, Clarence Copper, Jr., wrote The Scene while incarcerated and addicted and published it in 1960. Five novels followed in his trouble life, including Weed (1963) and The Farm (1968). He died penniless and alone in New York City in 1978.
