The Parker Pen Incident is the story of Lomberto, whose parents made a Sophie's choice decision when he was fourteen years old. They sent him and two siblings alone to The United States, as part of Operation Pedro Pan, under the supervision of the Catholic Church in 1962.
Lomberto's emotional journey takes him on a whirlwind of incomprehensible changes in a strange place. Yet, he grows up fast and is a father figure to Ernie, his younger sibling.
In time, he accepts he won't return to his Cubita bella - his beautiful Cuba. What he doesn't know yet is the caliber of man he is growing up to be and how America becomes home.
