fearing for her life and the one growing inside her. Clara must make a
terrifying decision between raising a child as a single mother or staying
in a physically dangerous relationship-and she chooses to fight for
their safety.

This story illuminates what the 6% of victims who report to the police in
Canada are subjected to highlighting the reason why it's such a small
number who have enough faith in the justice system to come forward.
Clara writes her experience of testifying within the Canadian Justice
System as a call for change. When only 12% of reported sexual assaults
result in conviction, and only 7% result in incarceration, the only
guarantee in reporting is re-victimization and trauma.
