About the Author
The host of the online hit "The Smart Apartment Advisor Show" has put pen to paper. J.J. Panzer, CCRM, began working at Real Management Company (RMCsf.com) full-time in 2002 yet he has been involved in the family business since childhood. His father, Joel, founded RMC in 1980. A graduate of University of California, Berkeley in 2002 with a bachelor of arts in Psychology and a Minor in Business Administration, J.J. quickly realized that working in the family business was his calling. He and his father worked together until Joel retired and sold the business to J.J. in 2010. J.J. earned his California real estate broker's license in 2004. J.J. is active in the rental housing industry through long-time Board service for the Professional Property Management Association of San Francisco (PPMA) an organization dedicated to professionalism, education, and networking for professional property managers. PPMA was founded by J.J.'s father, Joel, in the early 1980s. J.J. is a two-time SFAA Property Manager of the Year Award winner and also holds a Board seat on the San Francisco Apartment Association, a non-profit group dedicated to educating and representing the interests of independent owner-operators of San Francisco rental property. He loves teaching and sharing knowledge and experience from his business, regularly teaching SFAA's 10-week CCRM course. His charitable work includes serving as Vice President of the Board for Rebuilding Together SF, a non-profit that provides no-cost home repairs and maintenance for low-income and disabled homeowners to allow them to stay in their homes as long as possible. J.J. also has an MBA from San Francisco State University. He is a San Francisco native and lives in the Mission district with his wife and daughter.
