Amarillo, Texas, to many of those who pass through on their way to the "postcard" mountain scenery of northern New Mexico and Colorado, is the flattest and ugliest place they have ever seen. Hammons, Chera: - Chera Hammons is a graduate of the MFA in Creative Writing program at Goddard College in Plainfield, VT. Her work has most recently appeared in such publications as Beloit Poetry Journal, Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, Rattle, Sugar House Review, Tar River Poetry, Tupelo Quarterly, Valparaiso Poetry Review, and The Writer's Almanac.
