After briefly studying graphic design at Louisiana State University, she earner her degree in finance at LSU, and later attained her MBA at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Sandie works as an accountant, and is the mother of three sons, and a PACK of dogs. The first book, The Traveling ZOO Goes to School, was born from an innocent question from her youngest son while passing the ZOO on their way to school: "I wonder what it would be like if the animals took a field trip to see us at school instead?"
