About the Author
Tao Zhijian: - Tao Zhijian, PhD, is a translator and scholar. He earned his MA degree from the Institute of International Relations in Bejing, and his doctorate from McGill University. He has taught at several universities and worked also in the hydroelectric and hydrological fields.陶志健: - 陶志健,麦吉尔大学博士,翻译,魁华作协会员。插过队,做过工。本科毕业于山西大学并留校任教;研究生就读于国际关系学院(今国际关系大学),获硕士学位,并留校任讲师;后留学加拿大麦吉尔大学,获博士学位,其间任英文系助教。曾任联合国教科文组织大会翻译,任职电力和水文等领域。退休后宅家,有时拿个相机比划一下、或者乱弹琴一半首,做几本书。Tao Zhijian, PhD, translator, and member of the Chinese Writers' Association of Quebec, Canada. He has worked in a farm as well as a factory. He graduated from Shanxi University with a bachelor's degree and stayed on as a teacher; earned his master's degree at the Institute of International Relations in Beijing (now International Relations University), where he also taught as a lecturer. He later studied for his PhD at McGill University in Canada, where he also worked as a teaching assistant in the English department. He has served as a translator at UNESCO conferences and worked in sectors such as electricity and hydrology. Retired, he enjoys staying at home, occasionally taking photos with a camera or playing random pieces on the piano or accordion, and has authored several books.
