Franklin Pierce Adams (1881 -1960) was an American columnist who used the pen name F.P.A. He was best known for his newspaper column, "The Conning Tower". FPA often included parodies in his column. During World War I, Adams was in the U.S. Army, assigned to the military newspaper Stars and Stripes. His books include Tobogganning on Parnassus (1911), Answer This One (a 1927 trivia book with Harry Hansen) and The Melancholy Lute (1936).
