The historical Buddha was a man born in India in the fifth to sixth century BCE. When he manifested his innate Buddha nature, he became the teacher of the world to lead all people to this revelation. From the very start of his teachings, the Buddha taught for all people, no matter what social caste, education, or ability, could attain and maintain their inherent Buddha-nature in this life and for eternity.
