About the Author
Steve LaNore holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Texas A&M University. He is a 9-time award-winning broadcaster with nearly three decades of television experience, including stints in Dallas, San Antonio and Austin. He has served as Chief Meteorologist at KXII-TV since 2006. LaNore is an AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist and has completed the National Weather service advanced Skywarn training program. Steve's book "Weather Wits and Science Snickers" has been honored with a Mom's Choice Award, a 1st-place NPFW award for children's non-fiction, and a 1st-place award in the Press Women of Texas' Communications Contest for children's non-fiction books. Steve says, "I love to watch kids laugh and learn, and that's why I wrote the book". He lives in a small community north of Dallas with his wife Gera. He is a self-described weather "nerd", but his interests cover a wide range from writing, music, art, travel, history and philosophy to all things science!
