Most Christians today practice a religion about Jesus with the emphasis on his sacrificial death on our behalf and very little attention given to what he actually taught during his ministry. While the importance of Jesus' death for our sake cannot be over-emphasized, Jesus' teachings are also important. The spirituality he teaches prepares us for life in the kingdom of God. And, importantly, Jesus teaches us that eternal life begins now, in this world. If we don't understand our own spirituality in this life, we will enter the next unprepared for the fullness of God's kingdom. What Jesus Really Taught And Why We Don't Believe It re-presents the core of Jesus' teaching in a simple, engaging way that shows that Jesus teaches us how to have an authentic, dynamic spirituality with practical skills for living in this world as well as preparing us for the next. The book is brief so that it can be read in one sitting.
