About the Author
Skeeter Wilson was born in British Colonial East Africa, the son of American missionaries. He was born along the edge of the Gikuyu lands at the end of the Mau Mau war. He watched the birth-pangs of Kenya as it became an independent nation. Skeeter's early years were divided between his Gikuyu friends and the children of expatriates at an American curriculum school in Africa. He lives in Auburn Washington and has graduate degrees in creative fiction and African history. He is the author of the upcoming Crossing Rivers (December 2013) an African historical fiction about a young Maasai girl who was adopted into the Gikuyu culture at the dawn of British colonialism in Africa. It is the first of a series of five novels based on the life of a Gikuyu woman who was born in the 1880s and died in the early 1970s.
