As a volunteer for Timber Creek Search and Rescue (SAR), missing out on holiday festivities is nothing new to Gracie. So when her team is called out on Thanksgiving Day to search for four hikers missing in the mountain wilderness of Southern California, she packs up her gear and heads out to find them.

The mission quickly goes from routine to deadly. The one missing person the team finds, famous actor Rob Christian, is hypothermic and injured, remembering nothing of what happened to him up on the trail except someone trying to kill him. When Gracie's SAR partner disappears with the team's radio and an early season blizzard moves in, Gracie finds herself trapped with Rob at the bottom of a steep canyon with limited food and shelter and no link to the outside world.

Alone with Rob in the wilderness, Gracie will have to use all her experience and expertise to keep Rob--and herself--alive. But with an unknown killer lurking somewhere in the wilderness, even that might not be enough to save them.
