Fiddler on the Ship; My Trip Around the World for Free is an autobiography of a Japanese woman, Julliena Okah who grew up in a conservative family but pursued her dream by leaving her country alone in the 1970s when the world travel was not common in Japan. Since her youth, she dreamt to have a unique life. While she traveled to hundred and ten countries and lived in fourteen of them, she became a solo violinist, painter, and author. This book is written her adversity and adventure in the process of developing her new life in various countries. She challenged how to travel for a poor person around the world. She eventually became a headliner on cruise ships and had a luxurious life. But she went through many disasters, and catastrophes and became homeless. She had many near-death experiences. This book describes how she handled her unexpected life being a single woman.

Julliena Okah resided in New York City and Nice France for twenty years and commuted to America and Europe for her work. As a headliner on cruise ships, she made over 500 cruises in 25 years. As a painter, she did ten one-woman- shows and over fifty exhibitions in art galleries.


空飛ぶ船の上のバイオリン弾き、は能力が無く問題が多かった日本女性ジュリアナ・オカが多くの苦しみやいじめにあい、十七歳で悲惨な自殺体験をした後、外国進出が未だ一般化されていなかった時代一人で十五ヵ国に住み、生涯独身を通して音楽家、画家そして作家と成って行く波乱万丈な人生のいきさつが描かれています。

世界各地で何度となく死の危機に面し、天災や事故等で災難の受け続けでホーレスにも成り身が切れる厳しい人生とも成っていきますが、無一文に成った時に作ったバイオリンのワンウーマン・ショーで再起し、二十五年に渡りニューヨークと南フランスのニースに仕事の拠点を置き、西洋の豪華船でショーをして百十ヵ国を廻ることに成功していきます。

又ペルーで起こった超自然体験から突如画家と成り十回の個展、四十回に渡る展示をし数々の新聞記事とも成りますが、隠退時期目覚めた人生の目的に駆られて経験も興味も無かった本の著作に全てを掛け、ロスアンゼルスで講演者とも成ります。
