The growing discontent with King and Parliament is reaching a fever pitch in Colonial Boston and the surrounding countryside of Massachusetts Bay Colony. To Michael Broderick, an Irish Magistrate's Clerk in his home county of Clare, Ireland, it means nothing until he loses his job due to cut backs related to the American course of liberty. It is told from the British soldier's point of view being expressed by the voice of Michael Broderick, a man who, like most soldiers, didn't understand why he was there and couldn't care less about American liberty.
