Over four years, photographer Gabriela Maj traveled across Afghanistan collecting portraits and stories from inside the country's numerous women's prisons. Almond Garden pays homage to these individuals and provides a window into Afghanistan's shocking gender inequality and a reassuring portrait of the resilience of these powerful women.--Vice UK
