Australian author, John Kelly gives us this delightfully funny, yet poignant, bittersweet account of his life growing up in Melbourne as he confronts his demons both real and imagined. "I grew up in East Kew in Melbourne's east; there's probably a plaque there somewhere to mark the event. Back then, the world of actinic keratosis, basal cell carcinomas, squamous cell carcinomas, malignant cutaneous fibrous histiocytomas and melanomas were a lifetime away. Back then there was just the Sun. A very clever mix of the past with present day events; told with vigour, humour and a healthy dose of scepticism as broadside after broadside is fired off at religion, the media, past Presidents and Prime Ministers, world politics, and football. Not for the religiously sensitive. "I loved it. All the pathos of a restricted Catholic upbringing, with its outrages and absurdities." Michael Nunziante, The Basin

About the Author
John Kelly is semi-retired and the self-published author of four novels: Satan's Little Helpers, Andrea's Secret, Saints and Relics, and most recently, Hiroshima Sunset. He is married with two children and two grand-children. He works part time as a taxi-driver after a long career as a middle-management executive in the automotive industry. Largely self-educated through the University of Hard Knocks, he relishes speaking out on issues that effect the direction humanity is taking, doesn't mind supporting lost causes, and has more recently become a prolific writer.
