About the Author
I began running at age 30 because I didn't like what I saw in the mirror every morning - pudgy jowls. For ten years I was satisfied with a mile or two every day. At age 40 I had to make some changes in my life and as a result picked up my mileage. Running is great therapy for anything that ails you. I began running races and decided to enter a marathon. More marathons followed and after a couple of years I got curious about ultras. Dropped out of my first 50 mile trail race - couldn't believe how hard it was - but liked the people so I came back for more and never stopped.
