About the Author
Ryan is a writer and traveler that will always call the Pacific Northwest home even though he hasn't really lived there since 2007. Like many others, he got his first real taste of long-term travel during college as he studied abroad in both Italy and Yemen. He left college with big dreams of adventure before he ended up moving across the country to Washington, DC, where he worked as a legislative assistant for a senior member of Congress. After his job came to an end, he launched himself into the world of vagabonding and hasn't looked back. At the end of 2012 he decided to take a year-long career break to road trip around the American West climbing and hiking. Following that trip he decided to head to South America to backpack across Colombia before settling down in Medellin for a few months. Most recently you can find him back on the open road, somewhere in Central America.
