About the Author
ROBERT F. LACKEY lived in Havre de Grace, Maryland, for 23 years, spending many afternoons exploring the remnants of the Susquehanna and Tidewater Canal. He was a member of the Susquehanna Museum at the Lock House, and served a period as publisher for its newsletter. After moving to Havre de Grace from North Carolina in 1993, he fell in love with the little town sitting at the mouth of the Susquehanna River and head of the Chesapeake Bay. The area is rich in history and watershed culture reaching back to the beginning of the country. Among the many historic themes coexisting within the nearby sites and lanes, the Canal Era drew the author's attention first. Stepping outside technical writing, Blood on the Chesapeake is the first of several sequels following Pulaski's Canal. Robert is a member of the Historical Novel Society, the Surf Side Writer's group, and the South Carolina Writer's Workshop. He is currently conducting research for the third Pulaski book, tentatively titled Raven's Risk. He is planning additional sequels to follow the Pulaski family through the coming trials they will face in the 1800's. He has written other books under his pen name, Pug Greenwood: Tooey's Crossroads (Humorous short stories with a country flair, 2009), Bim and Them (Children's adventure, 2011). He now lives with his wife Sandi in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, and divides his time between their beach house and the secluded writer's cabin he built in Southern Virginia.
