When free-spirited Carmel spends a summer working at a Canadian Rockies resort in the 1960s, she falls passionately in love. She is the author of January: A Woman Judge's Season of Disillusion, a memoir. Marie is a tireless advocate for social justice and reform of sexual assault law. She lives with her wife in Florida and in her native Newfoundland.
