About the Author
Shawn Kerivan was born in Quincy, Massachusetts, in 1964. He attended the University of Maine at Orono. He sold his first short story in 1994, and since then he has published more than 50 short stories, articles, and columns. After moving to Montreal, then settling in northern Vermont to become an innkeeper, he attended Goddard College, where he received an M.F.A. in creative writing. His first book, a collection of short stories called Name the Boy, was published in 2007, and his memoir of innkeeping, A Brief History of Innkeeping in the 21st Century, was published by The Vermont Press in 2014.
