Cybernetics Or Control And Communication In The Animal And The Machine

""Cybernetics Or Control And Communication In The Animal And The Machine"" is a seminal book by mathematician and philosopher Norbert Wiener. Originally published in 1948, the book explores the concept of cybernetics, which Wiener defines as the study of control and communication in both living organisms and machines. Wiener argues that there are fundamental similarities between the way that living organisms and machines process information and interact with their environments. He introduces the idea of feedback loops, in which information is constantly fed back and forth between a system and its environment in order to maintain stability and achieve goals. The book covers a wide range of topics, including the nervous system, artificial intelligence, and the future of technology. Wiener also delves into the ethical implications of cybernetics, warning of the potential dangers of unchecked technological progress. Despite being written over 70 years ago, ""Cybernetics Or Control And Communication In The Animal And The Machine"" remains a foundational text in the fields of cybernetics, systems theory, and artificial intelligence. Its insights into the interplay between living systems and machines continue to influence contemporary thinking about technology and its impact on society. This Is A Study Of Human Control Functions And Mechanico-Electrical Systems Designed To Replace Them. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
