It's Friday and Mike wakes up brutalized from a 50/50 grind on a handrail gone awry the night before. Despite his cuts, bruises and sore muscles, Mike can't wait to skateboard tonight. He, David and Cedric have planned to skate in the forbidden zone downtown and go to a party afterwards. Cedric has an added surprise for his buddies - dinner across the border in Mexico at a suspicious looking little hole in the wall he calls Dog Tacos. Before the night is over, the friends will come face-to-face with the most notorious gang in town, be detained and interrogated at the U.S. border and be hailed as heroes on the local news. Mike's heart and loyalty will also be tested. This night will challenge the friends like no other. The unexpected rewards far outweigh the night's events.

About the Author
Terry McChesney was first introduced to skateboarding at five years old in 1963 while living in Wiesbaden, Germany. His older brothers had a homemade scooter built with 2 x4's and steel roller skate wheels. Soon after, the handle broke off of the scooter and they disposed of it. Terry retrieved the bottom part and quickly became preoccupied with trying to ride while standing on it without a handle. Little did he know that this would lead to his lifetime obsession with skateboarding. In 1965 he was living in Jacksonville, Florida and found a skateboard with clay wheels on the lawn of the school up the street. The feeling of those clay wheels was one he'd never forget. He sampled his first urethane wheels while stationed with the Navy in San Diego in 1977 and found his way into the cement parks of El Paso shortly thereafter. He opened Skate City El Paso in 1987 and hosted many demos with professional skateboarders including Tony Hawk and Jason Lee. Over the years he formed and sponsored a local skateboard team and organized several skateboard contests attended by contestants as far away as Albuquerque, New Mexico. Currently he is sampling the new crop of parks that have sprouted in Southwest Texas thanks in large part to the supreme efforts of Carter Dennis.
