About the Author
Glader, Eugene a.: - Eugene Glader grew up on a farm near Cambridge, MN and attended a one room school through the fifth grade, He graduated from Cambridge High School, Bethel College (AA), Wheaton College (BA), University of Minnesota (MA), and the University of Iowa (Ph.D.). He served two years in the U.S. Army, taught and coached three years in high schools and twenty years at Bethel University. He was also Athletic Director and Chairperson of the physical education department for about the years at Bethel. While at Bethel he wrote the book titled Amateurism and Athletics. In 1981 he and his wife became the principal owners of Cascade Lodge near Grand Marais and the Blue Water Cafe in Grand Marais, MN. In 2004 they sold the lodge and started researching the history of the town and the lodge.
