About the Author
Fulton, Cathleen: - Cathleen Fulton has been a world nomad since 2014. She is a citizen of the United States, but she does not have a permanent residence. Cathleen considers herself as a solo, independent, slow, long-term, and frugal traveler. This means that she plans and books all her own travel and does not go on organized tours. Her goal is to travel cheaply so that it is financially sustainable. Hostel dorm rooms and small guest houses are usually her temporary homes. Cathleen looks for ways to experience cultures deeply as she travels. She has found the best way to engage with locals is by using a technique called "thematic travel." She looks for people around the world who share her passion for food and the fiber arts, and she uses these common interests to break the ice. As a result, she has met hundreds of people, many of whom have become lifelong friends. What started as a mere six-month trip to Europe in 2017, expanded to a two-year odyssey spanning 17 countries around the world. When asked what her address is, she is hard-pressed to give you an answer. Cathleen loves to share her stories and traveling methods to encourage others to step outside their self-imposed boundaries and follow their travel dreams. You can learn more about Cathleen's way of life on her website and blog, athleensOdyssey.com, where you will find stories, how-to guides, and inspiration. As Cathleen likes to remind everyone, "Life begins outside your comfort zone!"
