Gals shouldn't get their hands dirty, unless that gal is Penelope Hale, who refuses to let the rules of society box her in. At the dawn of World War II, Pip has a thirst to quench. America is changing more quickly than the little town of Saratoga can keep up with, but for Pip, this is just the wave she's been waiting for. Unfortunately, this wave washes in its own set of troubles. Jack finds himself in grave danger, Max's life hangs in the balance, and a gut-wrenching choice must be made. Pip must fight to keep everything she cares about from sinking down to unreachable depths. It will take all the burning within her to battle what's in store.

About the Author
Alissa Bright has always had an inexplicable draw to movies and books about world war 2; not to mention the fashion of the era. The Hale's Storm series was born from an emotionally charged dream... in black and white. The story was written in the most pieced, hodge-podge format possible, resulting in book one in the series becoming a six year project (the author does not recommend this method). She is not a college graduate, nor an english major, but she does believe creativity and drive can leap traditional hurdles! After all, the Wright Brothers were two uneducated guys with an insatiable hunger to figure out human flight. Passion makes progress. This author's favorite quote is, "Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right," by Henry Ford.
