Note from the author:

"As a mother, researcher and former school teacher I believe that the health and well-being of our children is vital. We don't want to see them in pain and just as importantly they are our future With so many children experiencing health issues ranging from obesity to diabetes to rapid tooth decay the connection between nutrition and health has never been more important to examine and consider. I wrote Healthy Kids, Health Diet to give parents a handbook for feeding their families well, offer clear and unbiased information to make informed decisions, and provide support along the journey."

About the Author
Sue Kuivanen is a credentialed secondary English teacher, who has taught children and adults of all ages. Currently she is owner of Joy and Happiness Events, an event planning company that specializes in creating and promoting health and wellness expos. Her strong interest in the needs of children and the environment took root during her grammar school years, and she began her teaching work with Special Olympic kids throughout her high school years. College life also opened her to what were then more alternative lifestyles like yoga, vegetarianism, and various healing arts. While in college, she developed a strong desire to write a book but could never think of a compelling enough topic to undertake the commitment. After becoming a mother, Sue received the inspiration she needed to write about subjects that had been playing a predominant role in her life: health, children and the planet. During the young years of the Internet, Sue began working as a business and IT consultant, which involved numerous gap analysis projects. More out of habit than planning, Sue approached the issue of feeding kids well by looking at the gap of what the many experts were expounding and the vastly different reality of what feeding children looks like today. Through storytelling, extensive research and field work, she provides a source of wisdom for guardians of children who would like to make conscious decisions to create happy and healthy lifestyles for their families and communities. Sue lives in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California with her husband, Michael, daughter Savanah, and Australian Labradoodle, Tulip.
