History of Israel and The Jews: From the origins to the 2nd century AD.

Opening the Bible is discovering the history of a people with God. It is, of course, a lived history, at the center of what we usually call the Fertile Crescent, a history that will be expressed in the categories of the cultures with which it will encounter.
If the event is at the origin of many biblical stories, that story is nevertheless told to us so that we can draw a lesson from it: how, based on this reading of our history, should we live, act, hope and fight today? The story is told for the editor's contemporaries; It is aimed at them; It does not always have the same character, since sometimes it is an apology from the king, other times a prophetic speech, and other times the work of some priests. That is why before each of the texts we must try to capture the interpretations, sometimes successive, of the events.
