This is the standard history of Orange County, Virginia, most of whose records have perished. While there are chapters on county courthouses, churches, people and houses, the Germanna Colony, and Orange County's participation in the French and Indian Wars, the Revolution and the Civil War, the genealogical strength of the book lies in its copious appendices.
