Sheriff Peterkin has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Government and Business, from Liberty University, a Masters of Management and Public Administration from the University of Phoenix. He is also a Doctorial Candidate for Organizational Leadership & Management. As a decorated officer, Sheriff Peterkin has been awarded Citizen of the year twice by organizations in his community, Humanitarian Award, Key to the City of Raeford (presented by Raeford's Mayor John K. McNeill), and the Order of the Long Leaf Pine (awarded by North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory), and many other awards. Sheriff Peterkin is a Singer, Songwriter, Author, Public Speaker, and a consultant.
