This book is an aggregate of stories that when bricked together, they explore the early part of my paternal grandfather's life as well as amusing and insightful stories from my childhood. I bring forward a world at the turn of the century when my grandfather made the decision to come to America from Poland. I cover his decision process up to his death and add some stories about my experiences as a young Polish Catholic kid growing up in the City of Detroit. I will be forever grateful that my grandfather made the decision to immigrate so many years ago.

About the Author
Thomas Bem was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1945. He attended Cody High School in Detroit graduating in 1963 and graduated from Henry Ford Community College receiving an associates in Science (majoring in mechanical design). Tom continued his design engineering education at Oakland County Community College and Lawrence Institute of Technology.
