In this unique science fiction novel, Dr. Janis Briga seeks to reconcile scientific facts with the existence of God. By 2149, eternal life has become a biological possibility for an elite minority. The lives of Karl Danton and Baron Williams, friends from childhood, are forever altered when a boating excursion turns deadly. Already a member of the Life Continuation Program and thereby assured that a clone will be activated, Baron sacrifices his life to save Karl. Baron's decision has far-reaching and profound consequences. Karl perceives that something is different about the new Baron. The resulting disquietude compels Karl to abandon the University in search of deeper meaning in his life. As his venture begins, he encounters beautiful Dawn Corbet, who invites him to her community in the Rocky Mountains. Karl is inadvertently drawn into a clandestine group that has been identified as subversive by the Government. Despite instincts that tell him to escape, Karl begins to explore the beliefs shared by this group. Many of his preconceptions about God, faith and being are challenged.
