About the Author
Joris Merks practiced competitive Judo since the age of six. After receiving a black belt in Judo and Aikido he switched to Kick-Boxing, Submission Grappling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In 2002 he became Open German Champion and European Champion Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (elite class -91 kilograms). Joris Merks studied the science of movement at the Free University of Amsterdam.
