God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord. Philippians 2:9-11Jesus is Lord. We see the words scrawled as graffiti, printed on bumper stickers, and painted on highway overpasses. The phrase rolls off the lips of Christians and non-Christians alike: Jesus is Lord. Has this declaration become so commonplace we have forgotten its meaning? Has Jesus become just one Lord among the others that vie for our allegiance--the lords of entertainment, career, or personal wealth? Frank Moore reminds us that down through history, in the face of all other competitors, kingdom citizens have sounded the call, Jesus is Lord. Many members of the early church paid a high price to do so. Join Dr. Moore as he traces the origins of this ancient confession and challenges us to reclaim allegiance to the one-and-only Jesus, the God who will not be usurped by other gods.REVIEW: A stunning portrait of what it means for each of us to have a separate body, but to all share one mind--the mind of Christ, the Lord of life. -Leonard Sweet, best-selling author, professor (Drew University, George Fox University), and chief contributor to sermons.com
