Lake of Thought: Poems and Artwork by The Living Water School Poetry Circle

Here's the story of how this book came to be. At the beginning of the year, Shay, a 10th grader asked if she could design a poetry class. I of course was elated that she was interested in doing something like that. The poetry class met 2 to 3 times a week, listening to, watching and sharing poetry. From this experience, the students began to write their own poetry and would share them with each other. Many of the students had never written or even read poetry before. It was from this class that this book, Lake of Thoughts was birthed. Words cannot express how proud I am of each of them. Every single poem was written by a student between the ages of 10 and 18. Every piece of artwork was created by a student. Even the chapters were named by the students. This is truly a collaborative work of the students of The Living Water School Poetry Circle and I'm sure each reader will find themselves refreshed by the flow of words coming from these amazing young people.
