Laying on of Hands: Whether Laity Can Perform It?

The question whether the laity can lay their hands on somebody is very relevant in the Catholic religious context and it was a problem to many of the believers especially in the context of growing charismatic movements in the Church and also because of the Pentecostal churches who practice the laying on of hands a lot. This doubt is so common that there are a number of websites in the internet dealing with exactly the same question. But there are some confusions in using the vocabulary. The word "blessing" and "laying on of hands" are sometimes confusing. This is a study that explores the biblical, canonical and moral dimensions of laying on of hands.
