About the Author
Letters From My Uncles is Mark's first published book. -Raised in Port Washington, New York, Mark is the third son of Stanley and Mary Palasek. -A graduate of the C.W. Post Center of Long Island University with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science, he worked for the U.S. Customs Service for 32 years. A survivor of the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center, his career allowed him to meet with foreign dignitaries and to instruct foreign and domestic government employees and civilian trade organizations on American import protocols. Mark's essays and reports have been reviewed by U.S. importers and by manufacturers globally as well as both houses of Congress. His personal writings have been published as featured editorials in several regional newspapers and national magazines. Mark is currently retired, though he continues to write and bartend in South Carolina. In his spare time he enjoys playing softball, volunteering with non-profit organizations and expanding his palate as a Master Judge in the South Carolina Barbeque Association.
