About the Author
Nelson Andrews has a masters degree from Purdue University in mathematical statistics and has excelled in courses such as sampling theory, regression analysis, design of experiments, mathematical statistics, stochastic processes, probability theory I and II and have attended scores of seminars on other topics in statistics. Nelson earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Johnson C. Smith University, where he excelled in courses such as calculus, differential equations, abstract algebra, number theory, topology, linear algebra and advanced calculus. Nelson has worked in the private sector and the Federal Government for more than 30 years as a mathematical statistician and programmer. His knowledge of professional statistical theories has been exemplified by his continued high performance on his jobs. In the area of regression analysis, analysis of variance and nonlinear regression, he has written several papers and participated in many seminars in which he was a speaker. One such paper is entitled "Simplification Of Maximum Likelihood Estimates Of Jelinski & Moranda Parameters". This paper was published in the American Statistical Association proceedings of 1986.
