About the Author
I did more talking than anything else as a little girl, so my mother thought I should find a profession where I could "use my mouth." So while I was dreaming of becoming a wildlife photographer or a psychologist or a meteorologist, she was envisioning her daughter as a lawyer. It wasn't until 2002, sitting on a twin bed in a tiny bedroom in Seville, Spain, that I saw the potential in becoming a writer. Surrounded by books and magazines, it occurred to me that what I really wanted to do was communicate. Communicate stories, ideas, information. Create communication that inspired, enlightened, and healed. It wasn't until 2011that I became a yoga teacher, for those very same reasons-to inspire, to enlighten and to heal. Thanks to New York University, some wonderful people I've met along the way, and the support of my family, I was able to pursue this writing thing. And so much gratitude goes out to my amazing yoga teachers (from Sonic Yoga and Mala Yoga) for teaching me this practice and encouraging me to share yoga. Today, I have a dual career as a yoga teacher and a freelance writer. My first book, He Never Liked Cake, is the story of growing up with my father's brain injury. My second book, Move Feel Think, allows me to combine my two loves-writing and yoga.
