Mr. Lotman is a collection of dark short stories guaranteed to haunt you.

In it... A catfish becomes a legend, A girl goes missing, And a man visits a haunted Victorian house.

Every story in this collection is very different. In the first story, Infinity, the author uses artistic license by choosing not to capitalize the lines of the child speaking, and instead, sides with a lowercase format adaptively showing the age of the character.

This whimsical stylistic device technique is similar to how Emily Dickinson used unique punctuation to creatively express her poetry which was uncommon at the time. Author E. E. Cummings famously used decapitalization to start out his writing.

This element is not used in every story, as they are all intimately diverse. In Wilderness Road, the vocalization of the characters is served by the accurate use of a southern drawl, whereas Mr. Lotman, the last short story of the collection, has an Edgar Allen Poe-type quality.

About The Author:

Ivy Love Brown,
(1983- Present) was born in Saint Petersburg, Florida. I am the Great Grandaughter of an Italian Immigrant. I pay tribute to my Great Grandfather John Dusina, who passed through Ellis Island's Golden Doors for a chance at a better life. "He came here on a little boat from Italy," my Grandfather Louis Dusina would say. To my Grandfather Louis Dusina, thank you for all the rocket launches and all the nostalgia that was my and my sister's childhood, you captured it, in love with both pen and photographs. I would not be a writer without you Papaw Louie! I also have Irish ancestry as well as the Cherokee and Catawba Tribe. I am an emerging author in East Tennessee, home of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Greatly influenced by my dual time spent around the ocean and the mountains, I was inspired to write. I have written two books to date. Colors Written on a Lily Pad is a poetry book, and Mr. Lotman is a collection of dark short stories centered mostly in Tennessee and North Carolina. I have more books planned to be published in the near future.
