About the Author
Van Egmond, Mo: - Mo Van Egmond is an independent artist and illustrator based in Newcastle. She has an interest in creative ventures of any kind and experience with a variety of mediums from fibre and traditional art, to digital and 3D media. Mo is most experienced in illustration, focusing primarily on creating imaginative and memorable character designs and scenes for both individual moments and full comics and books. Her primary interest is fantasy rooted in realism, creating works to capture the imaginations of her audience. Mo also has a passion for tattoo design, specifically for fine lines and blackwork, and has created designs for herself and others. Her interest in art began as a teenager and grew into pursuing a Bachelor of Creative Industries. Graduating in 2021 with a major in Design and Visual Arts, Mo is working towards a full-time professional career.Joy, Sandra: - Sandra Joy home-schooled her children 30 years ago, "Back in the day, when I had to write my own programs and have them approved by the Department of Education". Since then, she has written programs for K-6 PDHPE, K-1 teaching, Sunday School and Scripture classes. She also coordinated kids' camps, craft lessons and holiday programs. Volunteering in classes such as these gave her the practical application of program implementation and the chance to trial her plans. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English & Writing. Sandra now enjoys craft activities, adventures and reading to her seven grandchildren. Believing that children like to help those around them, Sandra has drawn on her experience with children to create the Happy Helper series of children's books.Hartman, Jessica: - Jessica Hartman is currently studying Social Science, majoring in Human Services. She aims to work with those adults living with the issues resulting from childhood and domestic trauma, and supporting the education network. As a mother of two high-needs children, Jessica is interested in the subliminal lessons that children learn, and how they influence the adults of tomorrow. She is a strong believer that important lessons are taught through awareness and education, and operates with the belief that change starts through preparing young children.
