My Love For You Will Still Be Strong

Mick Jones is the somewhat awkward valedictorian of his tiny high school class in Cass, a sleepy beach town that lives off the tourists who arrive each summer. He's surprisingly received a scholarship to a college several hours inland, but he barely understands what that opportunity represents because no one ever seems to leave Cass.

As the summer begins after graduation, Mick goes back the job he's held for the past two summers, working in the rental office for Mr. Carter, who owns almost all of the cottages in Cass. Mick likes his job, but he loves Mr. Carter's daughter, Leah, the princess of Cass who spends her summers hooking up with tourist boys, and who never quite sees Mick as anything other than the sweet guy friend she's known her whole life.

Mick expects this summer to be like all the rest, but even before he realizes it, everything starts to change. His attempts to get ready for college make him wonder whether he's ready for the outside world. The Carter family has secrets that begin to leak out in in a town where everyone knows everyone else. And Leah starts to feel the limitations of being the golden girl with no responsibility. What kind of future is there-particularly in Cass-for either of them?
