Notes on Jungle Warfare from the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Infantry on Guadalcanal Island

The attached lessons learned in the tactics of jungle warfare were obtained from the United States Marines and Infantry on Guadalcanal and are a result of interviews which are attached in the document. There is an attachment to this document (a training bulletin) titled "Close-up of Guadalcanal, October-November 1942: verbatim statements of participants" written February 1, 1943. Sections include leadership and use of staff, control, characteristics of this individual soldier, American tactics and methods, Japanese tactics and methods, recommendations for training, weapons, equipment and supply, sanitation and first aid, and communications.
