Louisiana has long been celebrated for its delightfully zesty cuisine, carnival politics, natural beauty and embellished tales of intrigue and humor. From the bucolic villages and towns of Jackson Parish, Louisiana, a land of picturesque creeks and piney woods, comes a "better-than-fiction" unmasking of the fascinating life of a country lawyer. Bobby L. Culpepper, in this revealing and humorous semi-autobiography of his life as an attorney in rural Louisiana, shares tales and veracities that are unfailingly interesting and laugh-out-loud funny! He cunningly lifts the shroud and gives us a peek at the reality of back-room politics and courtroom antics, as he shares his personal experiences in a way that is human, genuine, disturbing and hopeful. At once an amusing anthology of lawyer stories and a teasing expose of a side of the law few of us ever see, Objection, Your Honor is a charming collection of stories about all of us, our perplexities and our strengths. The author's "down-home" style belies the brilliance of the complex and educated lawyer, who knows the system and works it to the fullest for the good of those he represents. The reader, even those who thought they knew him, will be amazed at his intricate involvements and his far-reaching impact in the cloistered bustle of Louisiana politics.

About the Author
An attorney in the Louisiana judicial system for nearly five decades, Bobby L. Culpepper, has always shunned big city life for the down-home life style of a country lawyer. His unpretentious office suites in the small town of Jonesboro, Louisiana and his 'layed-back" approach to the practice of law in one of the most complex legal systems in the nation belie his brilliance and his intricate involvement in precedent-setting judicial cases and the circus-like arena of Louisiana politics. Bobby is a Louisiana native of the old school, his ancestors having moved there in the nineteenth century. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University Law School with a juris doctorate degree, and he is still actively involved in university activities. An original member of the LSU Tiger Athletic Foundation, he vigorously supports LSU athletics. His only hobby is LSU football! Over the years, he has been keenly enmeshed in both state and federal politics. He was appointed as a Colonel and Aide-de-Camp on the Governor's staff of both John J. McKeithen and Edward W. Edwards. He is the longest continually serving member of the Louisiana Democratic State Central Committee, having served since 1968. He was appointed as a delegate to the 1976 National Democratic Convention, at which Jimmy Carter was selected as the Democratic candidate for President, and later elected as President. He has also served on committees for both Republican and Democratic candidates and on advisory committees for both Democratic and Republican Presidents. He is a Southern Baptist and has served his local church as Chairman of the Board of Directors, Chairman of Deacons, Sunday School teacher, discipleship training leader, and pastor-search-committee member. He has been married to Beth, nee Walker, for nearly fifty years and is the father of two children, both active in the legal system.
