About the Author
Rick was reared in pastor's home in Cincinnati, Ohio. His life has been surrounded by the blessings and hardships of the ministry where he observed from the life of his parents and other church leaders the importance of godly virtue and being a trustworthy leader. His observations of right and wrong responses from those around him set Rick on a course that involved coaching and aiding leaders in both ministry and secular work. Rick has over thirty years of ministry experience, underscored with a focus on personal training and discipleship. He graduated from Northland Baptist Bible College in 1985 (now Northland International University). He has served as a youth pastor, youth leader for an international ministry, church planter, biblical counselor, and currently serves as a co-pastor of Grace Bible Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. To support the many ministry endeavors he has pursued, he started a marketing firm which eventually led to the forming of Proven Resources, Inc., a leadership and management consulting firm. Rick coaches leaders from start-up companies to divisions in Fortune 500 companies such as Pacific Gas & Electric. He has written numerous growth/development and motivational resources for various religious organizations and businesses. Polycarp, a destroyer of our gods, is a discipleship guide that has been woven into a novel. It provides the reader with positive instruction and guides the lessons along a captivating story of a true hero of faith. Henline Productions has made a feature film based on the last few chapters of the novel. The movie is to be released in early 2015. When Rick is not working, you'll find him either reading a book or roasting coffee (or both). As a coffee aficionado, he loves experimenting with various types of roasts, blends and enjoys drinking and selling his roasts. He anticipates starting a small-batch roaster with one of his nephews sometime in 2015.
