Computers? No, typewriters and carbon paper. Google? Ha! Instead, dozens of large reference books for every medical specialty. This was the world of medical transcription in 1971 when Connie J. Sedona began what became a 38-year career, working in hospitals, outpatient clinics, group practices, and for transcription services in Central and Northern California, all the while collecting the "bloopers" found in this book, and twisting medical terminology into wacky word combinations. In 2009 the wonderful technological advances went one step too far, and she was replaced by voice-recognition software. A passionate animal lover, Connie also happily blended a pet sitting business into her life for nine years. She and her two cats live in the San Francisco Bay Area where she enjoys photography, frequent trips to the coast, ikebana, and wordsmithing.
