About the Author
HR grew up in the deserts and mountains of New Mexico-the Land of Enchantment. From a very early age, he was always exploring, adventuring, and learning-roaming through the wilderness with his dog, Scamp, building an erector set, or mixing chemicals in his bedroom. HR never outgrew his driving desire to understand how things work. He began his formal education while serving in the US Air Force, where he also met and married his beautiful wife of 27 years, Gwen. While raising two incredible kids, HR and Gwen founded Real Life Family Center, a large international non-profit organization that serves the community of Spanaway, Washington and beyond. Growing up in an alcoholic and abusive home drove HR to become heavily involved with programs such as a food bank, hot meals program, free clothing center, and recovery programs for adults and youth, as well as international programs to provide clean water in Africa and homes in Mexico. HR and his team at Real Life Family Center are passionate about giving back to their community and making the world a better place. When he's not writing or teaching, HR still loves to backpack, climb mountains and scuba dive. He's determined to continue asking questions and trying to pass on what he learns.
