About the Author
It was at a very early age when I, Douglas Esper, (your friendly neighborhood author) realized I had a passion for the written word. As a youngster, I couldn't get enough books to satisfy my desire to read and to this day, I have many books my parents got for me. As I started school I quickly gravitated towards reading and writing to the point teachers grew impatient with me for writing stories in class. The passion and drive to read and write has never abated to this day and I think I am finally feeling comfortable in my own writing skin. Thus, I published my first book for very young readers called Sammy's Birthday Surprise. It features top notch, colorful artwork from my friend Jeff Fernengel. We are working quickly on the follow-up to this book, Sammy's New Neighbors, which will be out in 2011. Also, I have been hard at work on my second novel, which I recently completed a rough draft for. In fact, as I type this I am editing a final draft of my first novel titled, "A Life Of Inches." I live in Brook Park, Ohio, which is just outside of Cleveland, with my wife, son, and dog. By day, I am a medical delivery technician, but I also try and mix in school readings and appearances at book fairs as well. (Want me to read at your school?
